  • Professional Social Service Trainee

    Roles include: - Providing direct care for children with emotional and behavioral challenges in residential settings - Supporting children and adults with developmental disabilities - Case managers for children, families and adults - Providing direct educational services to students with special needs in classroom and community - Community integration specialist, providing services to clients with chronic mental illness Program details: Duration: The sponsorship is 12-18 months, commercing in February, May, August and November 2010. Stipend: Each trainee will be remunerated with a monthly stipend of $865. Accommodation: Housing will be provided for free but is not on site. Location: The placements are all located on the East Coast; Predominately in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont. Further services: One week orientation upon arrival and On-going support over the whole duration of the program

Based in New York City, this is an international architecture firm with projects throughout the United States, Korea, China, and Japan. The firm emphasizes original, cross-cultural design and technical excellence. Assist with the development and documentation of projects as part of a project team, including research, drawing, site visits, photography, measuring, client and internal meetings, and model-making. Observe and assist with technical research and generation of drawings for projects to be constructed. Assist on all aspects of the design and construction of projects, including administration of construction contracts and assisting with completing the standard documentation. Assist with preparing drawings for schematic design, design development, and model-making. Assist marketing staff to research and produce Requests for Qualifications (RFQ) and other marketing materials. Assist with updating company website to include recent projects. J-1 should bring at least $800 with them upon arrival.

    Company is a premiere brokerage and finance firm for investment in New Construction opportunities in Manhattan for both domestic and international clientele. Intern will shadow employees as they contact clients who show an interest in buying/financing/selling various types of real estate deals, etc. Intern will learn about the different types of buildings and units in Manhattan and will learn about specific clients' needs and specifications. Intern will assist with updating company website, tracking new listings and developments by doing online research and reading real estate publications, attending client meetings, contacting banks, visiting new construction developments. Intern will attend client meetings with employees. Intern will assist with researching various aspects of the real estate market. J-1 should bring at least $800 with them upon arrival.

  • Chemical / Biomolecular Engineering Intern/Trainee

    Stem cell culture and characterization Use of fluorescent microscopy, flow cytometry, flow chamber assay and other advanced tools to characterize and study stem cells Attending high-level conferences, seminars, and social activities at Harvard/MIT community Interacting with leading doctors and testing platforms in relevant animal models Attending and presenting at weekly group meeting. J-1 should bring at least $800 with them upon arrival.

  • Public Relations Intern/Trainee

    Internships in International Public Relations Firm. Training will be focused on business development, increasing client base, conducting media research. Candidates will be responsible for developing content lists, conducting research on potential international clients, event planning and logistics. Candidates will also be involved in writing press releases, pitching the firm’s services to new clients, handling media communications. Housing is not provided but employer will help search. J-1 should bring at least $800 with them upon arrival.

  • Architecture Intern/Trainee

  • Journalism/Communications/ TV Production Intern

    Internship in a leading U.S. cable news network. Candidates will learn and observe the fundamentals of news gathering and breaking news coverage for a 24 hour Spanish speaking network. Candidates will shadow assignment editors to gain an understanding of how the different departments interact. Candidates will handle communications with network assignment desks, outbound bureaus and sister networks throughout the US and internationally. Candidates will gain inside perspective and learn all aspects of news gathering and TV production for a future career in the industry. Housing is not provided although employer will help search J-1 should bring at least $800 with them upon arrival.
